Today was a very productive day! We now have a legally binding birth certificate which states that Cindy is Dema's mother, I am his father and his full name is Dmytro Ericson Noel! We also have all of the needed documents ready for us to take the road trip to apply for Dema's new passport. We will leave tomorrow on a journey that will total 6-7 hours, and it doesn't look like we will be leaving until noon or later. Today's visit with the kids only lasted for 1 hour because of the documentation that we needed to secure, and tomorrow, there may not be a visit at all....BUMMER!
For those of you who are considering adoption, it looks like Thursday our facilitator will be joining us for a trip around the children's home for some pictures and information about some of the kids. We will be mainly focusing on the kids that families from our group have met while they were here on their adoption journeys.
Unless something big happens between now and then, the blog Thursday evening (Ukraine time) will be solely devoted to the children who still need homes!
These young ladies are excited beyond words for the arrival of their family! Vika who most times shies away from the camera was more than happy to pose with me for her mama and papa. I wish I was going to be here to see the reunion--if my hug was just a hint of what mama and papa will receive...I'd think they had better start to practice holding their breath!
Mick and Janel are right on track to be out of here...well hopefully before Easter!!! No, actually, they have their court date on the 14th, then the 10 day waiting period, then a few days for the final exit preparations. If you aren't already following their journey, check out their blog at
This was great to watch--his face didn't change through all 3 viewings of the video that Joe and Ginger sent! When he finished watching, he looked at me with misty eyes and said Joe Ginger Skype please??? Hopefully we will be able to get them on the line within the next couple of days...
Congratulations!!!!
