Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.

Isaiah 1:17

Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

James 1:27

Gettin' ready to "meet" Dema

We made it to Krivoy Rog--Dema's home town!  The train ride was interesting, we had a private booth we shared with Syvetta, our in country adoption attorney.  The booth had 2 sets of bunks and a small table, probably a 7' x 7' room.  The restrooms on the train are interesting--they are closed once the train comes within 20 minutes of a town--the toilets empty onto the tracks!  But after a 8 hour ride and a good sleep for me, Cindy didn't sleep much through the rocking and rattling--we made it!  We are sharing an apartment with Russ and Lori while they finish up their first trip.  I think this apartment is the Taj Mahal of Ukrainian aparments--very nice!  We are adjusting to this culture, but slowly!  First we needed permission to travel to this region, today we will get permission to visit Dema...kinda feels like a game of mother may I!  But, as of 2:30 our time, all of the paperwork, bureaucracy,  and uncomfortably will be worth it!  We will be in the orphanage!  We will let you know how it went later today...look for more!
